Gravitas Digs ‘Boned’, Bai Ling Hollyweird Comedy
Gravitas Ventures has acquired U.S. rights to Laura Lee Bahr’s Toronto Independent Film Fest winner Boned. Described to be in the surrealist Hollyweird style of John Waters and David Lynch, the pic follows Samantha (Angela Landis), an L.A. actress/dogwalker whose profession suddenly unravels. Samantha learns her roommate (Robyn Cohen) is shot by a crazed dognapper. Even worse, Samantha must recover a Maltese that’s been dognapped by a complex, lunatic dominatrix (Bai Ling). Also in the mix is a charming but shady doctor (John Randall).
